Chapter 1.22: No Party Like a Wedding Party

Varinia doesn't want a swanky locale or A list guests. She wants a simple backyard wedding with her family. While setting up Varinia has the realization that she has achieved more than she thought possible. She raised a beautiful family on her own, she's become a hit movie composer, and she has almost learned every instrument known to simkind. She's marrying her best friend, the only man that has ever loved her as much as she loves him. It's perfect.

The guests arrive at the same time.

Varinia and Claude are eager to finally tie the knot and seal their fates forever.

"I love you," he whispers.
"I love you too."

With the guests crowded around, the couple exchange their vows.

"Forever," Varinia says sweetly.

The cheers are deafening.
"It's about time!" Leila yells.

It's a beautiful party.

Marques insists on throwing rice at the couple all night long.
"Will you stop?" Moira hisses.
"But it's fun!" he replies.

"We should get married." Leila says.
"We're rebels sweetheart. We're never getting married."

Selma is the only one there without a significant other. She is seriously conflicted.

"Gross," Amira whines.
"What?" Israel asks through a mouthful of cake.
"Nothing."

"It's great that you're married now. Your daughter can give you marriage advice."
"Right. . . Israel, have you been drinking?"
"No. Yes. No. Maybe."

"RICE! It's so happy!"

"Marques is a moron." Amira says.
"He's getting into the romance. You should appreciate that."
"Right. Of course."
Amira silently wonders if Michael is right.

"We should get married."
"We're still in high school," Michael replies.
"After we graduate then."

"Is this your way of saying you love me?" Michael asks.
"Yeah, I mean, yes. I. . . well, I love you."
"I love you too. See? Romance. It suits you."
"Shut up," Amira says through a grin.

Poor Moira is stuck cleaning up the left overs.

Poor Marques got glitched throwing rice through the entire wedding party. I didn't notice until the end when I tried to get Moira and him to dance. Oh well. I think it's sweet that he's a romantic at heart.
